About
Chris Roberts was born at London in 1927 and studied at The Chelsea School of Art. She lived most of her life in Twickenham and Pembrokeshire. From an early age she was always painting or drawing and continued to do so throughout her life with a prolific output of vibrantly colourful paintings and witty line drawings. Her cartoons enjoyed international success and were syndicated by CAMRA Press to be published in magazines such as Harper's. Her paintings were sold privately or through exhibitions. This website is a retrospective of her unsold output at the time of her death in 2015. The paintings make bold use of acrylic colours and feature views of the Thames, Pembrokeshire landscapes, still lives, portraits and birds. A cross section of some of her many sketches and cartoons is also included.
